The "Clair Senses" and Paranormal Terminology
Every human has a natural intuitive ability. Those with one or more of the 8 "Clair Senses" have opened themselves up to focus on their intuitive abilities and the experiences that may be possible as a result.
Simply put, the term "Paranormal" relates to experiences or activities that are "beyond the normal".
Read on for more information on the 8 "Clair Senses" and some common Paranormal terminology.

The 8 "Clair Senses"
Clairvoyance
A clear sense of vision, ie, psychic sight. It's the term people most often associate with a "medium" but is actually one of the least common. Clairvoyants may have incidents in dreams or awake seeing a "vision" or something that later turned out to transpire.
Clairgustance
A clear sense of taste... being able to orally detect psychic information. This is often a familiar taste that seems to come out of nowhere associated with a person who has passed on (like the sauce from your mom's pasta or secret recipe cookies)!
Clairsalience
A clear sense of smell... being able to nasally detect psychic information. Similar to Clairgustance, this is often a familiar scent associated with a person who has passed on (a favorite perfume, cigar or food scent, to name a few).
Clairaudience
A clear sense of hearing... being able to detect psychic information through the ears. This is a more common clair sense but doesn't always (or usually) mean hearing voices as many people think. It might be a ringing in the ears or other noticeable, but unexpected sound, when thinking of a particular person or past/potentially future event. Or perhaps a song on the radio or certain words on the TV seemingly perfect in the exact moment you were thinking of someone who has passed.
Claircognizance
A clear sense of knowing, ie, psychic insight. Often a more subtle clair sense, it's that feeling of just knowing something happened in the past, or is going to happen in the future, even if you don't know why you know.
Clairsentience
A clear sense of feeling ... being able to detect psychic information through your body. Internally, it can be a "gut feeling" of dread telling you to keep distance or something positive helping you know you're heading in the right direction. Externally, you may feel suddenly cold or get goosebumps which may note a close spirit presence. It may also be a sensation in a certain body part consistent with how a person may have passed.
Clairempathy
A clear sense of emotional feeling... being able to detect psychic information through your emotions. There is often a connection between those who consider themselves spiritual and also empathic. Being an empath means actually feeling the emotions of those around you or that you are in direct contact with. Clairempaths feel the emotions of others they are not near or in contact with, and/or also feeling emotions in advance of them being experienced by another. You may have a strong sense that something is wrong with someone, even if you haven’t been in recent contact, because you have an energy connection and can feel their emotions.
Clairtangency
A clear sense of touch... being able to detect psychic information through your hands. A lot of psychic information can be learned through the energy stored in the belongings in our homes and all around us. If you’ve ever held something and felt a surge of energy, goosebumps or another unexplained feeling, you may have experienced a moment of clartangency.

Paranormal Terminology
Elemental
Supernatural "nature" spirits which can include those thought of as sprites, pookas, etc. as well as earth, air, water and fire influences.
EVP

Intelligent Haunting:

Orb
A translucent, circular, otherwise unexplainable “ball of light” usually captured in photograph or video denoting spirit energy.
Residual Haunting
The idea that a location can retain past events or emotions which can be sensed or experienced by individuals. These can occur as voices, apparitions, smells or sensations that link back to past people or events associated with the location.
Reveal
A collection of data, evidence and experiences gathered during the investigation and reviewed by the team is presented to the client combined with discussion around any remedies that may have been done in the moment or are suggested to be done.
Spirit
A reference to the soul of the deceased that has crossed over yet exists beyond the physical realm.
Walkthrough
A preliminary walkthrough of the premises where the investigators can gain any intuitive sense of potential activity, interview the client(s) and decided on equipment set up and investigation strategy. The team then does an investigative walkthrough to gather readings and data and any evidence as well as potentially providing remedies in the moment.
